John Lichtefeld
Superintendant 1918-1925John Lichtefeld, Freds father, also worked for the Frey Planing Mill Company as a shift foreman. When Johns son and Fred Metzner started their own construction business John Lichtefeld left Frey Planing and became lead forman for the new company. John was responsible for supervision over all of the subcontractors performing work for the newly established construction company. John was hands on regarding carpentry and project supervising.

LICHTEFELD, John F., Sunday, February 9, 1947, at 8:10 p.m.; age 89 years; residence, 1221 S. Preston. Devoted father of Fred and Harry Lichtefeld, Mrs. Lillie Haney, Sister M. Pancratia of the Ursuline Order, and Miss Rose Lichtefeld; also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Bosse Funeral Home, 600 E. Broadway, Wednesday morning at 9:30 and at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10 o’clock, Interment in St. Michael Cemetery. Members of the Holy Name Society will meet at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock to recite the rosary.
