A 19,750 s.f. Butler Metal warehouse building was added onto the existing facility. Approximately 110′ x 181′ x 25′ was added to the east side of the existing building for additional warehouse production space and 5 docks were added. The current warehouse will be demolished inside and renovated in phases. Total square footage is in excess of 40,000 s.f. This project was a fast track project that was FORD AUTOMOTIVE driven for the owner. This project was Lichtefeld’s fourth project for HJI. The project was built in four months starting in February 2016 and completed June 1st 2016 to meet the FORD AUTOMOTIVE deadline. The project was built and coordinated while HJI was in operation. The campus is tight with all of the tractor trailers inbound and outbound maneuvering during regular work hours. Detailed planning and coordination had to be orchestrated for the new addition and a new 1,800 lineal ft. sanitary sewer line installed. The project was finished two weeks early for FORD inspections. The rest of the project was phased and completed over the next couple of months. Because of our long relationship with HJI, they chose to waive the liquidated damages clause because of their confidence in our abilities.
